Yhdysvaltalainen amerikkalainen yritys Spherotech perustettiin vuonna 1992 tuottamaan ja toimittamaan yhtenäisiä mikropartikkeleita biolääketieteellisiin ja diagnostisiin sovelluksiin. Kokeneet tutkijat valmistavat korkealaatuisia lateksi-, fluoresoivia, paramagneettisia, ferromagneettisia ja värillisiä värjättyjä mikropartikkeleita, joita käytetään immunomääritysten fluoresenssimikroskopiaan, virtaussytometriaan, magneettisolujen erottamiseen ja muihin tutkimus- ja teollisiin sovelluksiin.

Spherotech kehittää ja valmistaa mikropalloja, mikrohelmiä ja mikropartikkeleita koskevaa tutkimusta ja teollisia sovelluksia. Yritys tarjoaa asiakkaan vaatimuksiin soveltuvan partikkelikoon dispersiota, funktionalisoitua pintakemiaa, vasta-aineilla, proteiineilla tai ligandeilla päällystettyjä mikrohelmiä, silloitettuja hiukkasia orgaanisen liuottimen vakauden lisäämiseksi, virtaussytometrilaatuisia mikrohelmiä kohdistusta, kalibrointia, kompensointia, laskemista ja lajittelua varten . Yhtiön tuotteista löytyy sovelluksia muun muassa fluoresenssi-immunomäärityksessä, entsyymi-immunomäärityksessä (EIA), fluoresenssimikroskopiassa, konfokaalisessa fluoresenssimikroskopiassa, virtaussytometriassa / kuvasytometriassa, magneettisolujen erottelussa, magneettisten hiukkasten EIA: ssa, mikrofluidiikassa.
